The Miracle of We-Mysticism

Mystics have access to the truth that lies hidden beneath our ordinary experience. Liberated from the hypnotic spell of convention, they are free to explore the profound and the extraordinary.
Mysticism is often associated with the lone adventurer, but this miraculous journey can also be shared. Listen as Jeff and Patricia share their experience of walking this path.
In this Dialogue Jeff and Patricia Discuss...
- How “we” mysticism is a mystical experience and path that is embarked upon by two or more people together, entering into new worlds and structures of consciousness that are born out of the inter-subjective space between people.
- Why mysticism is the experience of becoming One with a deeper sense of reality than what is seen as surface expressions of seemingly separate things.
- How “we” mysticism involves suspending what we think we know, letting language be a poetic carrier of experience, rather than making literal meaning of words.
- Why together, there are possibilities for intelligence and guidance that are greater than any that the individuals carry on their own.
About Jeff and Patricia
Patricia Albere and Jeff Carreira combined have taught for 6 decades reaching 100,000’s of people. They have developed programs, trained teachers and worked with dedicated students continuously for 10, 15, and 20 years respectively. At 18 Patricia was on the leading edge of transformation, participating in the first-ever “est” training that radically transformed her life. Since then she has worked continuously in the field of human development. Jeff’s life transformed when he met spiritual teacher Andrew Cohen in 1992. He has been a student and close collaborator of Cohen’s ever since and is currently the director of education at EnlightenNext. A year ago Patricia and Jeff began to co-lead the Evolutionary Collective and that collaboration is fueling a process of awakening that is the living source of their work together.

What if the higher intelligence speaking through the enthused “we” wanted not only to dazzle us with amazing states of the possible, but also, to give us a foretaste of living from/as third-tier communion, a new stage akin to the face of the Divine that a woman and a man can discover only in loving embrace?
If that was the case, we still shouldn’t try doing anything for or with our experience, but holding that possibility as real may better prepare its manifestation.
Living from and as. YESSSS! And it’s actually quite a challenge for most folks to accept living in that ecstatic state, as a stage. In myself, there are many resistances to that. Needless to say, I am dissolving them, or should I say IT is dissolving them, LOL! Then the possibilities do become more real, as I become WILLING to live them, in them, as them.
The basic difficulties of setting up residence in we-mysticism, for me, is that by definition, it cannot be an individual undertaking, and most of the emergent, collective Buddhas have not yet learned to organize themselves in economically sustainable circuits, which pushes them to perform too much left brain stuff…
This was really helpful for me. New words to something I have been explained in one way, experienced in others and now heard described anew. Great because I begin to sense the more than just occasional validity of it, while you live it – and we live it together. Thanks
How is this different from a traditional satsang, or even a sunday school discussion class or 12-step group where people are asking deep questions together and sharing their experience? Is there a good way to introduce this perspective into a group that I’m already a part of?
There a many different kinds of ‘we’ spaces – football games, rock concerts, all kinds of ways when we come together we can share a collective inter-subjective field. The Mystical We space – has to do with coming together – with certain orientations, capacities (for example – transparency, real vulnerability, being in the truth in a deep and attuned way, open, (there are more) and deeper realities begin to reveal themselves and a process that is bigger than the two or more starts to happen. We are doing a 5 hour experience of it virtually in September – check it out on our website: www.evolutionarycollective.com – it’s one of those experiences that once it begins to open, it makes sense..
This was just so validating of my experience… we mysticism is also amazing for intellectual nerds who dont want to put the energy into personal relationships but want to connect with people in a new way… It is also fascinating how the internet has played such a role in building the collective. Eleven thousand people meditated together on Pema Chodrons birthday… weird and wonderful.
Your right Marcia – there are all kinds of exciting new ways to evoke sacred spaces together with the technologies coming together on the internet – I was skeptical at first – now, I’m grateful and fascinated.
We mystism / intersubjective space. I am very curious and Gilles with hope for the Future A’s I have experiensed this to a certain degree as a member of Enlighten Next.
This dialog hd a quality of lightness and optimism. And I Got a derover sense of what Night be possible egen we move to another floor in the appartement.
This is indeed a cutting edge of spirituality, transcending and including our individual spirituality.
It is a completely new way of thinking Spirituality. Thanks Patricia and Jeff.
You’re welcome – the opening that occurs ‘in-between’ is so exquisite and powerful. And the love and creativity needed in this world..
Deep! I want to try this!
This was great – thanks so much! The relational part is so often missed out in spiritual conversations. Thanks you Jeff and Patricia. Can’t wait for more!!
